Quality Communities Utilize Everyone (QCUE) Mini-Grants
What is the Goal of the QCUE grants?
QCUE is a public awareness campaign to spark innovative methods of creating more inclusive neighborhoods and communities by recognizing the importance of utilizing the assets of ALL people, including people with disabilities. QCUE provides financial support to community groups and individuals to include people with developmental disabilities into the life and activities of an organization or neighborhood.
Who Can Apply?
- Local groups having a civic, social, recreational, faith or educational purpose
- Individuals with and without disabilities who develop a project or event with the support of a local organization
How Much Can I Apply For?
You can apply for up to $500 per group, event or activity. The funds will be distributed on an as needed basis until the funds are expended.
How Do I Apply?
Complete the two page QCUE Mini-Grant Application. The Wisconsin Council on Developmental Disabilities will notify you within 6 weeks if your proposal is funded. If you need a quicker response, please let us know.
What We’re Looking For:
- Projects that involve and welcome one or two people with disabilities into an ongoing or new activity or project
- Activities which highlight the interests and skills of your neighbors with disabilities
- Ideas that encourage the development of relationships
- Projects which have the potential to grow and be carried on after the grant period
- Creativity!
What Can I Use the Grant Money For?
The following lists some, but not all the ways you may use the grant:
- Organize neighborhood potlucks, block parties, gardening activities, walking clubs or neighborhood beautification projects
- Work with neighborhood associations on projects, events and services
- Create an inclusive art group to produce public art exhibits involving artists with and without disabilities
- Include people with disabilities in various recreational and social activities (dancing, fishing, movie clubs, ethnic groups…)
- Most any activity that has the potential for people to get to know each other
You cannot use the money for salary, operating expenses (rent, utilities, equipment) or to replace any existing funding.

- Grants of up to $500
- Additional assistance or ideas for your group
- Links to community resources and contacts, when possible
- Ideas for success
