WCDD World Café

Every five years the DD Council develops a State Plan to improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities in Wisconsin. The Council wants your help to develop the next Plan. The Council will host at least five World Cafés. These are designed to get your thoughts on what you think are the best things the Council can do to help people with DD have more control over their lives and be more involved in the community.

Reserve your spot now at one of the following locations of the World Café nearest to you:

• La Crosse
  Wednesday, September 14, 2005
  Where: Best Western Midway Hotel Riverfront Resort, 1835 Rose Street
  Time: 2:30 to 4:30 PM
• Ashland
  Saturday, October 1, 2005
  Where: Ashland Senior Center, 400 Chapple Ave.
  Time: 9 AM to12 noon
• Fond du Lac
  (This event has been cancelled.)
• Milwaukee
  Thursday, October 20, 2005
  Where: Milwaukee Center for Independence, 2020 W. Wells Street
  Time: 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM
• Stevens Point
  Saturday, October 29, 2005
  Where: People First of Wisconsin Board meeting, Midstate Technical College, 933 Michigan Ave.
  Time: 12:00 to 3:30 PM
  Use North entrance– door #3. Café and lunch will be in Room 133.

People who attend each Café will be asked two questions:

1. Imagine Wisconsin five years from now. What changes do you most want to see for people with disabilities by then?
2. Specifically, what are some things the DD Council can do over the next five years to make the changes you want happen?
